History
History at South Chingford Foundation School helps students understand how the past has shaped the world around them. At Key Stage 3, students explore a broad range of periods from the medieval era to the modern day, studying themes such as migration, empire and civil rights. They develop essential skills in source analysis, interpretation and constructing well supported arguments.
At GCSE, students investigate Germany from 1890 to 1945, Elizabethan England, the inter-war years and thematic studies on migration and empire. Lessons encourage debate, critical thinking and informed judgement, helping students become confident, thoughtful and analytical learners.
Learning is enriched through opportunities such as trips to Ypres and our partnership with the Anne Frank Trust, which deepen students’ understanding of global history and its continuing relevance.
