Transition
We are delighted to welcome all new Year 7 students to South Chingford Foundation School.

Starting secondary school is an exciting milestone, and at South Chingford Foundation School we work hard to make the exciting but daunting journey from Year 6 to Year 7 as smooth, enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Our Year 6–7 transition programme is carefully planned to provide every student with a positive, supportive and enjoyable experience. Through exciting transition days, opportunities to meet new friends and teachers, and a range of activities designed to build confidence, we help every student feel part of the SCFS family before they even begin. Our dedicated staff work closely with primary schools and families to ensure that each child feels supported, reassured and ready to embrace the exciting opportunities that await them at SCFS.
At South Chingford Foundation School, we see transition as more than simply starting a new school—it is the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Our aim is to ensure that every child feels welcomed, valued and ready to embrace the opportunities ahead, building the confidence, resilience and ambition that will support them throughout their education and beyond.
